A Soaring Affair: Gala Dinner To Benefit The Raptor Trust April 5, 2008
New Jersey's premier wild bird rehabilitation and education center is having its 25th Anniversary Gala Dinner to benefit the Trust on Saturday April 5, 2008 (6:15-10:30). The dinner will take place at Hamilton Farm Golf Club in Gladstone, NJ and will include a reception, auction, dinner and dancing. James has created an original painting exclusively for the event which will be auctioned off that night. The original collage depicts many of the wild birds (hawks, owls, birds) that the Trust has been rehabilitng for the last 25 years. The Art of Baseball/Motown and the Glass City April 2, 2008
Toledo, Ohio - The boys of summer will take the field once again for a new season and across the nation fans will dream about a World Series victory. The Detroit Tigers have one of the most exciting teams in recent years with their new additions in 2008 and look to be one of the teams to beat. On the eve of opening day for the Detroit Tigers and Toledo Mud Hens, renowned sports artist James Fiorentino will have an opening at MMK Gallery in Toledo, Ohio on Wednesday, April 2nd from 7-10 PM. James’s show will be on display for the month of April and some of the proceeds from the sales of the original paintings will go to the Toledo Mud Hens (AAA Tigers) charity. There will be twenty or more originals on display for the opening depicting baseball stars of present and past including Jim Leyland, Ty Cobb, Pudge Rodriquez, Magglio Ordonez, Justin Verlander, Hank Greenberg, Sandy Koufax, Cal Ripken Jr. and Bob Feller, just to name a few. Some guests attending the opening will be former and current Detroit Tiger/Mudhen baseball players and team officials.
There will also be a limited edition Jim Leyland poster that will be available exclusively to the gallery that night. Rags to Riches, the Philly that won the Belmont for trainer Todd Pletcher will be honored at this years Siros Cup in Saratoga where James will be creating an original painting that will be presented to Pletcher. New York Board of Trade - Mercantile Exchange April 4-7, 2006
With the release of the book "27: The Voice of the Yankee Fans", author Joan Fallon and James will be signing books at the N.Y. Board of Trade. Both author and artist will be ringing the bell on the mercantile floor. The signing will be available to everyone at the show and the proceeds will benefit NYBOT's charity for children. For the second straight year, James was commissioned by The Center for the Disabled in Albany, NY to present Mary Lou Whitney an original painting of her horse Birdstone winning the Belmont Stakes over Smarty Jones this year. James has been commissioned by TracerCode, official autograph provider, for the National Sports Convention, to create an original painting celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the 1964 Cleveland Browns Championship team. 2004 Drew University Young Alumni Award June 4-6, 2004
James has been chosen by his peers in the College/Alumni/ae Association as the 2003-04 recipient of the College Alumni/ae Association's Young Alumni/ae Achievement Award. Given to alumni/ae who have graduated from Drew within the past ten years and have demonstrated success in their chosen field as well as outstanding character and loyalty to Drew, this prestigious award has been presented to distinguished Alumni/ae since 1991. There will be an awards ceremony held on Saturday of Reunion and also a private reception.
Once again James has been asked to paint the official artwork for the 2004 Ted Williams Museum Induction. This years inductees included Monti Irvin and Rod Carew. James also painted a portrait of Rocco Baldelli, winner of the Ted Williams American League Rookie Hitter award.
James' latest project involves Yankee second baseman Alfonso Soriano. James released a limited edition of 33 giclees on canvas (16" x 20") with 12 artist's proofs. Ted Williams Museum 2003 Induction Feb 14-16, 2003 - Hernando Florida

Tri-Centennial Celebration of Mobile, Alabama October 17-20, 2001
James has been asked by the United States Sports Academy to create an original painting for the Tri-Centennial Celebration of Mobile, Alabama. (USSA chooses sports artist of the year and Olympic Artists) James will paint the 21 professional baseball players that all came from Mobile. He will also include the history of sport in Mobile, Alabama over the last 300 years. The players that will be depicted in the artwork are: Hank Aaron, Tommie Agee, WIllie McCovey, Satchel Paige, Ozzie Smith, Eddie Stanky, Billy Williams, Amos Otis, Cleon Jones, Tommie Aaron, Terry Adams, Frank Bolling, Milt Bolling, Stan Galle, Chris Kitsos, Norm Larker, Jim Mason, Pete Milne, Walt Sessi, Dave Stapleton, and Turner Ward. National Baseball Hall of Fame June - October, 2001
(Springfield, MA) James will be displaying his fifteen original watercolor paintings of Upper Deck basketball legends from July-October of 2001. James will have his opening July 14 (invite only) along with an appearance by Julius Erving who is found in the set of peintings. Each of the fifteen paintings can be found in Upper Deck's 2001 Legends trading cards (due out 6/01) which will be called the "Fiorentino Collection". Cards will also be autographed by players. (Indianapolis, Indiana) James will have a one-man show at the Museum of Art and Sport which holds the largest collection of sports art. James' show will have its opening on June 22 and will remain up until September. The show will feature 12-15 original watercoler paintings and will also include blown-up versions of James' 1999 Topps Gallery Cards. Leroy Neiman's show will follow James' in September.
(Hernando, Florida) James will create several original paintings that will be featured on the 2001 Induction Program cover and made into limited edition lithographs. James has also been asked to create a painting celebrating the anniversary of Ted Williams hitting .406 in 1941 at the age of 21. Ted is the last hitter to hit over .400 in a single season. James was asked by the Roberto Clemente family to create a painting of Roberto and Al Leiter to present to Al for receiving the 2000 John Hancock Roberto Clemente Award. James presented the original painting at a press conference at Shea Stadium during Game 3 of the 2000 World Series.

James presented NY Rangers captain Mark Messier an original painting that will hang in the Hackensack (NJ) Children's Hospital. Mark had a walkway dedicated to him in his name because of his contributions to the Tomorrow's Children Fund.
