1999 New York Mets - Former Mets ace Al Leiter asked James to create artwork to raise many for Leiters Landing. The artwork which featured Leiter, Henderson, Bonilla, Ventura, Franco and Piazza were sold at Shea Stadium.

This was the year of the streak and James first meeting with Cal who chose him to be his official artist celebrating the 2131 streak and later the ending of the streak. James was 17 years of age and was also featured on the Yankee broadcast that game.
