NAMOS issues call for entries in *Commitment to Excellence in Art and Sport*
Submission Deadline August 11, 2010
The National Art Museum of Sport is inviting sport artists to participate in its inaugural juried "Commitment to Excellence in Art and Sport: A Fine Art Competition" and exhibit.
The submission deadline is August 11, 2010. Entries are to be original art work and be submitted by digital images.

Up to 50 paintings, sculptures, and photographs depicting sport selected by a jury will be exhibited at the Museum on the campus of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. The exhibit is scheduled to open October 11, 2010, and close April 1, 2011.

National Sports Collector's Convention

James will have his art on display including many new originalsand reproductions. Some of the autograph guests include Bo Jackson, Joe Montana, Bart Starr, Randy Johnson, Jim Brown, Cal Ripken Jr, Brooks Robinson, and Gordie Howe. The National has grown to be a mega-event which can be housed in only a few locations in the country. But it still attracts all aspects of the collectibles industry. No other event can boast of participation by most of the licensing agencies of the major professional sports world along with dealers of vintage card and collectibles and the most current collectible products anywhere. With support from the major card manufacturers, card grading services, auction houses as well as from the licensees of these groups, the National is the event to attend each summer.

Open Space Gallery - James Fiorentino Solo Exhibition
June 1 - June 13, 2010
James if having a solo exhibition of his sports artwork at the Open Space Gallery in Frenchtown New Jersey from June 1 - June 13, 2010. There will be a reception and private showings of James' artwork. Former players and celebrities will be in attendance.
Fiorentino will show dozens of original sports portraits as well as limited edition giclees, including reproductions of the book cover he created for “Dirt in the Skirt,” a first-person history of the league written by Pepper Davis.
A smorgasbord of Fiorentino’s best works, certain to satisfy the appetites of sports aficionados, art connoisseurs and sports junkies will be available for purchase, from Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle and Ted Williams to modern-day ballplayers like Albert Pujols, Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera, as well as paintings and prints of football, basketball, hockey and golf greats including Brett Favre, Eli Manning and Michael Jordan.
