James's perpective on Mario Lemieux, "The Comeback" Project
"The original is painted in watercolor like all of my originals, very tight and photo realistic. I think what makes "The Comeback" very unique is that it illustrates a historic moment in time and also includes a personal memory from the actual player. I am commissioned by athletes all the time and to have one of the greatest hockey players of all time care and take pride in this piece is so meaningful to me. Also for collectors to get something that comes right out of the mind of Mario is something very unique to have. Painting this event that took place on Dec 27, 2000 makes me feel that I was there that night which is what I want collectors to feel when they see this work. I was very honored to be chosen to have worked on this project."
