Renowned sports illustrator James Fiorentino, whose portraits of America’s professional athletes are as legendary as the ballplayers’ exploits, will be guest of honor at the Second annual Wine Tasting fund raiser hosted by Operation Shoebox New Jersey at The Wine Room in Bound Brook, N.J. on Feb. 28.
Fiorentino has donated three limited-edition lithographs that will be auctioned during the evening – “Life of a Legend,” a poster-size collage of Mickey Mantle; “A Night in the Bronx,” a 16-by-20 inch panoramic view of the old Yankee Stadium and “The Captain,” a 16-by-20 inch image of New York Yankees captain Derek Jeter swinging at a pitch in the batter’s box with New York Mets’ catcher Mike Piazza behind the plate.

Pepper Davis "Dirt in the Skirt"
James has created this new painting for Pepper's book "Dirt in the Skirt" which will be released this spring. Limited edition giclees signed by Pepper and James are available now.
Pepper's Bio:
Lavone “Pepper” Paire Davis was born in May 1924 in California. She attended the University High School in West Los Angeles. From the very beginning “Pepper” had a couple of passions in her life…..Baseball and writing. Front the time she was old enough to work, she played ball with her Big Bro Joe and from the time she was old enough to talk, wrote Poems and songs in her head, then wrote them down when old enough to write. Pepper grew up during the 1930’s depression, playing softball three nights a week, bringing home gas money and food from her sponsors. Baseball became a way of life for her, something similar to breathing.
